The Seattle Monorail Project

Established as the Seattle Popular Monorail Authority (SPMA) by a November 5, 2002 ballot measure to build a monorail system in Seattle. Now commonly known as the Seattle Monorail Project (SMP). The SPMA has shut down and the web site no longer works.

Serves Kitsap County (county seat, Bremerton), west across Puget Sound from Seattle.

Mason County Transportation Authority

Serves Mason County (county seat, Shelton), southwest from Seattle and west of Tacoma.

Metro Transit

Serves King County, Washington (the county Seattle is in) with extensive bus service and the Waterfront Streetcar.

Pierce Transit

Serves Pierce County, Washington (the next county south of Seattle), including the City of Tacoma, with extensive bus service.

Sound Transit

Serves Snohomish, King and Pierce counties with high-speed rapid transit utilizing express busses, commuter trains, and now building a light rail line called Link.
